James Douglas Fur trader, colonial governor, nicknamed 'Old Square Toes'. Knighted in 1863. The only real person in my historical fiction novel 'New Beginnings on Vancouver Island'. Work in progress.

I loved reading this. It was essentially for research purposes, but the characters that created and worked for the Hudson's Bay Company are so interesting it immediately became a page turner.
