This is a lovely book – what more can I say… well lots actually.

I was captured by the prologue immediately wanting to know more. There is a fast pace from the outset, lots happening all the way through with a most unexpected ending that I really didn’t see coming. Perhaps a comment too far to say a perfect ending, but definitely up there.
I was rooting for Marianne as she suffered tragedy, job loss, disappointment in love and life, and so delighted when she decided to return to Ireland to live permanently in Innishmahon. She settled in beautifully with its fascinating residents – some of whom had their own tragedies and problems. I felt they would band together to help each other and so it proved when a terrible storm strikes the village.
Ryan had to work for my trust – as he did with Marianne – but I thought the development of the storyline here worked very well. His ties were in the movie world and it was obvious to me he had to work through any major life change. He struck me as a “decent chap” somewhat at the mercy of his agent and Angelique who I took an instant dislike to. Appropriately as it turned out. Ryan was worthy of Marianne and Monty’s affections. I could hear the Irish lilt in the accents and loved the chaotic Miss McReady.
